The second Doña Solórzano arrives at Hacienda San Isidro shortly after the end of the Mexican War of Independence. From the moment she sets foot inside the house, she knows she is unwelcome. But Beatriz Solorzano will do anything to make this house her home for herself and her mother. When her husband leaves her behind to go back to his position in the city and the darkness begins to wrap itself around her day and night, she asks Padre Andrès, a young priest with his own secret relationship with the house, for help. Together, will these two be able save Beatriz from the vengeful spirit out to destroy her?
