Bilbo Baggans, a hobbit, has his world turned upside down with the arrival of Gandalf, a wizard. It is Gandalf’s wish that Bilbo join a group of dwarves, led by Thorin Oakenshield, to destroy the dragon that forced the dwarves to flee their mountain home and leave behind their treasure. Reluctantly, Bilbo joins the journey and has enough adventures to fill multiple lifetimes.
