In 2005, the world was introduced to Bella Swan, a high school junior who moves to Forks, Washington from Phoenix, Arizona and immediately falls for Edward Cullen. Unbeknownst to her and most people in Forks, Edward and his family are a coven of “vegetarian” vampires. While readers made their first trip through this world from Bella’s point of view, in Midnight Sun, we get to experience the events through Edward’s perspective and get a better understanding of his angst over his attraction to Bella and his acceptance of his feelings for her. We also are treated to details of Edward’s past and how those choices defined his life as a vampire.
